What Is Counselling?
And how can it help me?
A Place Where Healing Can Grow
There are times in life when things can feel overwhelming, affecting both our emotional and physical wellbeing. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, stress or a general sense of sadness. You might be navigating a loss or bereavement, a traumatic experience, financial or health worries, the end of an important relationship or a difficult decision. Sometimes people don’t know exactly what feels wrong, only that something isn’t sitting right.
Can Person-Centred Counselling Help Me?
Whatever you are facing, it can leave you feeling uncertain, confused or disconnected from yourself. Counselling offers a supportive space to explore what you are experiencing, understand what you need and consider how you want to move forward. It provides a confidential environment outside of everyday life where you can bring anything that feels important. You will be listened to with care, empathy and without judgement or expectation.
Your Journey
Our early experiences can shape how we relate to ourselves and others, sometimes in ways we don’t fully recognise. Counselling can help you gently explore these patterns with curiosity and sensitivity to create opportunities for insight, growth and healing.
The process of counselling can help towards a greater understanding of yourself, can create confidence, self-compassion and personal growth. It can help you to try and make sense of your world, relationships and previous experiences.
My original training was in the person-centred approach.
Although I combine different therapeutic tools to suit the needs of each individual client, the person-centred approach remains at the core of my work.

This way of working is rooted in a therapeutic relationship built on genuine warmth, acceptance and positive regard. At its core, is a simple yet powerful belief: that every person has an innate capacity to grow, heal and move towards their true self when offered the right conditions.
Within a supportive and reparative relationship, individuals can feel truly heard and understood. Person-centred counselling creates a safe environment where you can explore different parts of yourself, reflect on your experiences and begin to live in a way that feels more authentic and peaceful.
What Is Person Centred Counselling?
Research consistently shows that a strong, trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in healing and meaningful change. When you feel safe, understood and accepted, therapy becomes a space where real growth can happen.
How we will work together
In our sessions, we will work at your pace.
We will work together to understand what you need and shape our sessions in a way that feels right for you. Every person is different and what supports one individual may not be what another needs. Your therapy will be tailored to you.
I will listen with care, curiosity and respect. When helpful and relevant, I may offer professional insight or gentle reflections.
We can explore patterns that feel limiting, consider new perspectives and develop strategies that support you in relating to yourself and others with greater ease.
